It generally means using a data analytics strategy to allow employees with the correct credentials access to the information they need. Also, they process the data sources in a way that makes them useful for business users.

This may include data literacy about who must collect information, what format the data must be in, data quality, and when the information should be submitted. They may also contain provisions for protecting user privacy and preventing unauthorized access to data.
